After Eastern made history last year for being the first Hong Kong club to reach the group stage of the Asian Champions League, their hopes for a return to the tournament found a sudden end on January 23rd, when they lost 2-4 to Vietnamese side Thanh Hoa at Mong Kok Stadium.
