On 28 October 2014 South China and Sun Pegasus met for the long-awaited derby at Hong Kong Stadium, making up a game of the first round, which was rescheduled in the wake of the 2014 Asian Games. After 90 minutes, Sun Pegasus came out on top with a clear-cut 0-3 victory that started with an early lead (Tong Kin Man, 4′) and was underlined with two more scores later on (Ju Yingzhi, 39′; Admir Rascic, 71′). Pegasus goalkeeper Jerrad Tyson kept his box clean once more, while South China failed to make use of its advantages (Ball Possession: 59-41, Shots: 13-11).

Sun Pegasus, due to its history sometimes referred to as “South China B team”,  has had an amazing run in the premier league so far, with 5 wins out of 5 games and a goal difference of +13 (15-2). While it’s too early to tell if Kitchee and Eastern will show similar quality (both have played 3 games less), Sun Pegasus will definitely play a big role in this year’s race for the very first Hong Kong Premier League title.
