Akande Scores Four Against Chinese Taipei

On a chilly winter’s night, Alexander Akande plundered four goals against Chinese Taipei in a match to remember for the striker. This victory has now set up a mouth-watering final EAFF qualifying game for host’s Hong Kong against North Korea this coming Saturday at Mong Kok stadium.

Hong Kong yet again failed to close and shut out a game properly and Chinese Taipei managed to pull back two goals with strikes from Chen Po Liang and Chen Chao An. This lack of defensive concentration has now become a reoccuring theme for the home side. This will need to be retified as only victory over a strong North Korea (who defeated Guam 2-0 on the same night) will ensure passage to the EAFF finals to be held in Japan in 2017.

In the women’s competition, so far South Korea have swept past Guam 13-0 while Chinese Taipei defeated Hong Kong 5-0. This Friday at HKFC, Hong Kong will play South Korea at 11.30am then Chinese Taipei will take on Guam.
