Macanese Chan Man signs with SC Olhanense

Chan Man will play for SC Olhanense this season. The Macanese player has signed a one-year deal with the 2nd division team from Portugal.

The last two seasons Chan Man played for Benfica Macau, winning the Elite League twice. Only 22 years of age, the right back will now try his luck in Portugal. Chan will be the 3rd Macanese player who earns his spurs abroad this year, as his former Monte Carlo teammate Leong Ka Hang signed with Hong Kong Premier League team Pegasus FC, while David Kong is currently playing for CD Mafra in Portugal’s 3rd Division.

Chan Man also won the 2016 Macau Elite League MVP award. Being one of the major talents of Macau, his transfer to Portugal is part of an agreement between SC Olhanense and the Chinese company Ledmen.
“I would like to thank Ledmen for giving me this opportunity, and to Benfica de Macau for helping me to gain more experience as a player. I still don’t know SC Olhanense, in Portugal I only know Benfica, Sporting and Porto”, told Chan Man before his departure.

Aside from Chan there are also a few other interesting transfer news from Macau. Brazilian player Junior, who previously played for Sporting Macau, signed with Hong Kong’s Sapling team, also known as Biu Chun Glory Sky. In addition, Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Nibra will head to Cyprus to play for 2nd Division team PAEEK. He won the Elite League three times in a row with Benfica Macau.
