Lee Man Football Club
Position in 2016/17:
Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground
HK$ 10 million
Lee Man joined local football in the 2016/17 season by sponsoring traditional side Rangers. However, the company, which is a listed company at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, has greater ambitions and decided to found their own team. In order to enter immediately in the Hong Kong Premier League, Lee Man had to pay an application fee of HK$ 1 million. The kits are branded with the subsidiary of Lee Man Chemicals, which owns factories in Jiangsu and Jiangxi with a total revenue of HK$ 1.81 billion.
① With South China being relegated to the 1st Division, it was uncertain if there would be Premier League football in Tseung Kwan O this season. However, Lee man saved the day for everyone living in Hong Kong’s furthest eastern district.
② Lee Man seem to be very serious with their Hong Kong football endeavours, and they could become a team that is here to stay. With a budget of HK$ 10 million, they also managed some decent signings, including Kitchee veteran Jordi Tarres.
③ Lee Man have also put some thought in their appearance and they will be the only team in the Premier League donning yellow/black kits for their home games. This has also led to them earning the nickname ‘The Bees’, as Lee Man plan to work hard day in and day out.
Tickets cost $80 for home games and can be purchased right outside the stadium on match days.
