This Tuesday Eastern will host their second home game in the Asian Champions League, and they will face noone less than K-League giants Suwon Samsung Bluewings. In cooperation with our colleagues from K-League United, offside.hk will present the first of two “Eastern-Suwon” chats between writers of both platforms. Eastern’s start into the Asian Champions League could hardly be any more spectacular. On 22 Feb, the reigning Hong Kong champions will take on Chinese Super League giants Guangzhou Evergrande in what is an unprecedented club-edition of a Guangdong-Hong Kong derby. For their first game in the ACL group stage, Eastern will travel to the legendary Tianhe Stadium, where in recent years Evergrande celebrated the victories of six consecutive league titles.
