Ahead of their first away ACL game since 2016, Jeonbuk Hyundai’s head coach Choi Kang-hee and striker Kim Shin-wook met the media on Sunday afternoon, February 19th, at the Hong Kong Stadium. Choi started off stating that the team has the clear vision to qualify through the next round of the Champions League as the winner of Group G. Despite only arriving Sunday afternoon, the whole team is in good condition and will be looking for a win on Tuesday night.
Having left their most senior goalkeeper, Hong Jeong-nam, at home for this match, Choi was confident in both of his young keepers and might hand Korea’s U23 Song Bum-keum a chance to show his worth. Another new winter signing, Adriano, could also be set for a debut in a two-top formation tomorrow, along with key man Kim Shin-wook, who was determined to extend his good form lately to score against Kitchee.
When asked about his opinion on Kitchee, Choi was aware that their opponents were mostly offensive in the league, but opted for a defensive approach against Tianjin Quanjin, so his team would be prepared for any approach taken. Being a fellow striker, Kim expressed his admiration for Diego Forlan and anticipated a great encounter with him tomorrow.
